I was at the thrift store, looking for the Junie B. Jones books I passed up last week, and I found this book from our reading challenge list and purchased it for 25¢. It believe this is the first of the Amelia Bedelia series.

We love the humor in the Amelia Bedelia books. Mr. and Mrs. Roger's maid Amelia takes everything literally. On her first day of work, the Rogers' leave Amelia a to do list that includes, drawing the drapes, putting out the lights, and dressing the chicken. Amelia draws the drapes on paper, unscrews all of the light bulbs and hangs them outside, wait till you see how she dresses the chicken. The only thing that saves Amelia from being fired is her delicious lemon meringue pie.
