Book Blogger Hop February 18
What book would you like to see turned into a movie?
I am reading a book by Barbara Hambly called Fever Season.
Fever Season is based in New Orleans in 1833. The main character Benjamin January is a black surgeon who becomes involved with a runaway slave girl, Cora, who has been accused of murder. When Cora and other free persons of color go missing in the community during the time of a Cholera outbreak, it is natural to assume that they were taken with the fever. After searching the many hospitals in the area and speaking to the locals, Benjamin begins to gather information that suggest these free people of color are being kidnapped and sold into slavery.
This is an outstanding read but I find it a bit difficult to follow. The setting is after the Louisiana purchase and there are a vast amount of characters in the book. Some have French names and some have American names. I am finding it difficult to keep all of the characters straight. This is one reason I would like to see this book as a movie. A movie would help me to relate to the characters more.

Hopping through for the weekend. I also find that movies/shows can help clear up confusion. When I read manga, I often have no clue what's going on, and am eager for the corresponding episode to be released.
If you feel like hopping my way, come venture into The Wolf's Den. Have a great weekend!
